STATUTORY PRESSURE SYSTEM
EXAMINATION
PRESSURE SAFETY SYSTEMS
REGULATIONS 2000 (PSSR)
Keeping you safe and compliant
Under PSSR 2000 pressurised vessels such as espresso machines require to be inspected and deemed to be safe annually.
As the business owner you have a duty of care to hold an up to date boiler safety certificate and Written Scheme of Examination for your espresso machine.
This is where Peak Coffee come in. Our qualified technician, working in partnership with Coffee Safe will attend your site and carry out a full pressure system examination, draw up a report on their findings and providing everything is compliant and the appropriate level of safe operating parameters are met you will then be issued your WSE and certificate of conformity to PSSR 2000.
During the visit your espresso machine steam boiler will be drained and the heating element removed. This allows us to visually check the interior of the boiler using a borescope, we can then easily look closely at welds, structure and any potential concerns. We will also check all the relevant pipe work and boiler supports.
A crucial element to this inspection is testing of the protective devices. Using a calibrated hand pump we test the release pressure of the safety valve, essentially mimicking a machine failure, this ensures that the valve releases under the pre determined steam pressure.
We would recommend aligning this with a water filter cartridge replacement as both require annual renewal.
You can book us to carry out your inspection as a stand alone visit or include it as a part of our optimal performance plan, which spreads the cost and includes preventative maintenance along with other benefits.
For more information or to book please do not hesitate to get in touch with either the contact form below or using our online booking service.

WORKSHOP SERVICES
With your wallet and environment in mind
As a dedicated coffee technician, most of my work happens out in the field—quick diagnostics, repairs, and keeping your equipment running smoothly with minimal downtime. But some machines need a little more than an on-site fix. That’s why I also operate a fully equipped, carbon-neutral workshop designed for more in-depth servicing and complete refurbishment.
High-quality coffee machines are built to last, and replacing them isn’t always necessary. In many cases, a thorough overhaul can restore a machine to near-new performance. Refurbishment not only saves you significant costs compared to buying new equipment—it also reduces waste and environmental impact. By extending the life of your machine, we help keep perfectly serviceable equipment out of landfills and lower the demand for new manufacturing.
Our goal is to offer the most responsible and cost-effective solution for every customer. Whether it’s a quick repair on site or a full restoration in our eco-friendly workshop, we’re committed to quality, sustainability, and long-term value.
